TEAM STATEMENT ON COACH EMBEZZLEMENT
We want to thank our Oakdale Community, friends, and family for the outpouring of love and support during this trying time. Your kind words, heartfelt hugs, and collective support mean more than you will ever know.
We are shattered that our coach and leader of our Inferno family has embezzled money from our cheer kids. There are simply no words to describe what the past few weeks have been like.
Our Firestorm Elite girls have been tirelessly fundraising for months for their once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Their money is gone. Were it not for a few parents and grandparents who made emergency loans to the Firestorm Elite team, our girls would not be going. Thank you, you are angels. In addition to our Firestorm Elite team being effected, money from all four of our Oakdale Inferno Cheer teams for the 23-24 season is also missing from the accounts.
We are doing our best to recover from this and help our girls navigate this emotional rollercoaster. We are so proud of them for their resilience and grit. They have truly shown what it is to get up, dust yourself off, and persevere.
Due to the ongoing criminal investigation, we will not comment any further at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
Members of the community have set up a fundraising page for the girls so they can repay the loans made to them and their cheer season can continue. TEAM TRYOUTS
We want our athletes to not only succeed at cheer competitions but in their life as well. Which is why we value attitude as much as we value skill level. At Oakdale Inferno Cheer we create more than a team, we create a family. A family that works towards reaching our goals. We push each other and hold each other accountable. Our hope is that what our young women learn extends past the doors of the gym and competition mat. We take pride in the wins we have, but nothing is as great of a success to us as the relationships we build.
